From The Eyes of An Observer

My eyes allow me to see... But my blog allows me to express it truthfully.

Labels

Most of you, i'm sure, have went into a supermarket before. Well, if you hadn't, I suggest that you take a trip to one that is nearest to you.

The moment that you enter them and headed to the nearest shelves, you will see a variety of similar products together. For example, tomato sauce. I'm sure there are different brands with different labels on them. Its this exact labels that differentiate from one brand with other brands.

And so are we. There are billions of us walking on earth right now. How do we differentiate ourselves from others? That's where labels come into place.

"Hey! Check out at that beautiful girl!"
"Which one?"
"The one with brunette hair."

Just from that example above, the girl that became a subject of conversation has two physical characteristics labelled on her: beauty and brunette. Those are the features that differentiates her with others.

And there are other categories of labels as well, ranging from character to religion. And sadly, because of this differences in charactheristic, there are people who discriminates.

Labels won't go away. We won't be able to resolve these differences in feature or charactheristic or religion. But we can change the way how we view others in a positive way or through conversation in a respectful manner. This way, we can avoid ourselves from conflicts.

I hope I could see, in my lifetime, a thought of unity for my country, which is uniquely diverse in terms of race, religion and culture.
